Mustang Mach 1. In the late 1960's real estate developer and entrepreneur, Lawrence Le Patin, had a vision to create a 5-track motor speedway empire able to facilitate all forms of motorsports. He inaugurated the American Raceway Incorporated (ARI) ARI ordered 20 promotional Mach 1's for each of the 5 tracks.This particular Mach 1 was delivered to Russell& Smith Ford in Houston and delivered to the Texas International Speedway. After the demise of the ARI franchise, the cars were sold off. All the other promotional cars were built with 351 Cleveland engines; this Calypso Coral Mach1 was the only known ARI promo car to have a 351 Windsor engine. This car has been in 4 separate magazines. This car has documentation from Lois Eminger (Ford representative) confirming that this car is truly an ARI car.
